Theatre Camp  -Little Mermaid

Parents,

Thank you so much for enrolling your kids in theatre camp!  We are looking forward to a great theatrical experience.

May 11 at 4 PM we will have auditions.  If your child is doing auditions, he/she needs to have read the script and be prepared to read any part. Many parts will be doubled, meaning the child will play more than one part.  We will try to satisfy every request, but it comes down to talent.  Each child who requested a part will receive one (it may not be the one they chose). Everyone will sing all songs unless some actors/actresses surprise us. For auditions, students will sit on stage and read together different scenes.  From the child’s diction, preparedness, and chemistry with the other actors, the directors will make choices.  If it will make your child feel more comfortable, I will work with him/her before auditions. Let me know so I can arrange my schedule.  I will have parts posted Friday, May 12 on the blog: http://camplittlemermaid.blogspot.com/

Information as well as critiques will be posted on the blog daily. Please check these and communicate with your children.

For Camp, please bring your child on time and allow them to stay until 4.  Everyone’s rehearsal time affects the performance on Friday.

Our schedule is as follows:

Monday – learn blocking

Tuesday – learn dancing and work on characterization

Wednesday – no scripts. Parts must be memorized

Thursday – Rehearsal

Friday – Rehearsal

Friday night’s performance is at 7PM.

Cost is $5. for adults and $3.for students.

If you have not paid for camp, we need the fees by Tuesday, May 23. You may post date them.  $125 for one child and $60 for each other sibling.

If you are willing to help with costumes or set, please let me know.  No sewing – just hot glue J

The purpose of the camp is to give your child more confidence, to foster an appreciation of the arts, and to have an enjoyable experience.   I hope this will be the first of many experiences that we share together on the stage.

If there are any questions, please contact me via email (ccouch@shallowaterisd.net or text me --806-470-9940). Please include your name. Thank you so much for allowing your child to be part of this adventure.

Cindy
